Refund Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Kipta ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website kipta.app. This Refund Policy explains the terms and conditions under which refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are handled for purchases made through our service, including subscription plans, one-time credit top-up packages, and any other paid features. By making a purchase on Kipta, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.
2. All Sales Are Final
Except where required by applicable law, all sales are final and non-refundable. Because Kipta provides digital services that are consumed immediately upon purchase (including AI credits, automated statement extraction, and financial analysis), we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits for purchases once the transaction has been completed and the service has been made available to you.
By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review Kipta's features, pricing, and plan limits before purchase, and that the digital nature of the service means it cannot be "returned" once delivered.
3. Subscription Plans
Kipta offers subscription plans billed on a monthly or annual basis. When you subscribe to a paid plan:
- You are billed in advance for the upcoming billing period (month or year, depending on your plan).
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period, regardless of when you cancel.
- Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals only. It does not entitle you to a prorated or full refund of fees already paid for the current billing period.
- Downgrading to a lower-tier plan takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle; the current cycle is not refunded or prorated.
- Upgrading mid-cycle immediately charges the prorated difference for the remaining days; this upgrade charge is non-refundable.
4. Credit Top-Up Packages
Kipta sells one-time credit top-up packages that add AI credits (such as receipt OCR, statement extraction, or advisor insights) to your account. Because these credits are delivered to your account immediately upon successful payment and may be consumed instantly:
- All credit top-up purchases are non-refundable once the transaction has been completed.
- Unused credits remaining in your account do not entitle you to a refund, in whole or in part.
- Credits do not expire and roll over to future billing cycles, but they have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred to another user, or converted back to a refund.
5. Statutory Consumer Rights
Some jurisdictions grant consumers non-waivable rights that cannot be overridden by this policy. Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including but not limited to:
- The EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU)
- The United Kingdom Consumer Rights Act 2015
- The Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010)
- Applicable consumer protection statutes in your state or country of residence
If a non-waivable statutory right entitles you to a remedy not described in this policy, that right is preserved and will be honored in accordance with the applicable law.
6. EU 14-Day Withdrawal Right
If you are a consumer in the European Union (and by extension in the United Kingdom under retained EU law), you have the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days of the transaction without giving a reason, in accordance with Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU.
However, under Article 16(m) of the same Directive, this right of withdrawal is waived for contracts for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium if you have expressly consented to the delivery beginning before the 14-day withdrawal period ends and have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
By completing a purchase on Kipta and initiating use of the purchased subscription, credits, or features, you expressly request that delivery of the digital service begin immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day right of withdrawal to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to this waiver, do not complete a purchase.
To exercise any remaining withdrawal right that has not been validly waived, contact [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase. We will process any valid withdrawal refund to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving your request.
7. Google Play Store Purchases
If you purchase a Kipta subscription or top-up package through the Google Play Store, the transaction is processed and billed by Google, not by Kipta. Refund requests for Google Play purchases must be submitted to and are governed by Google Play's refund policy, available at support.google.com/googleplay.
- Kipta cannot issue refunds for transactions processed by Google Play. Google's published refund windows (typically 48 hours for most purchases, up to 14 days in some regions) apply.
- Canceling a Google Play subscription stops future renewals; it does not refund the current billing period.
- Any withdrawal rights under section 6 of this policy apply only to the extent Google's own terms allow them to be honored for Google-processed transactions.
8. Stripe, Paddle, and Other Payment Processors
Purchases made directly on kipta.app are typically processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe, Paddle, or other processors we engage from time to time. These processors handle the secure transmission, storage, and settlement of your payment card or wallet details.
- All billing, currency conversion, and tax handling is governed by the terms of the applicable processor.
- Payment disputes regarding unauthorized or fraudulent card use should be addressed directly with your card issuer (see section 11 on chargebacks).
- This Refund Policy governs your contractual relationship with Kipta; the processor's terms govern the mechanics of the payment itself.
9. Goodwill Consideration
While our policy is that all sales are final, we understand that issues may occasionally arise. At our sole and absolute discretion, we may consider providing goodwill credits or, in exceptional circumstances, a partial refund, in the following situations:
- Documented technical failure on our side that prevented you from using the purchased feature.
- Duplicate charges caused by a system error.
- Verified service outage lasting more than 24 consecutive hours during your paid billing period.
To request goodwill consideration, contact [email protected] within 7 days of the incident, including your account email, transaction reference, and a description of the issue. Goodwill consideration is evaluated case-by-case and does not create an entitlement, obligation, or precedent. Decisions are final.
10. Billing Errors
If you believe you were charged in error, were charged twice for the same purchase, or were charged for a transaction you did not authorize, please contact [email protected] within 14 days of the disputed charge. Include the date of the charge, the amount, and any relevant transaction identifiers from your bank statement or our invoice.
We will investigate legitimate billing errors promptly and, where we confirm an error on our side, issue a corrective refund to the original payment method. This does not apply to charges you simply no longer wish to have made — those are governed by sections 2 through 4 of this policy.
11. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect and have not been able to resolve it with us directly, you may initiate a chargeback through your card issuer. However, we ask that you contact us first at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback — most disputes can be resolved faster through direct communication.
- Abusive, fraudulent, or "friendly fraud" chargebacks (chargebacks initiated for services that were genuinely delivered and used) violate our Terms of Service.
- Submitting a chargeback without first contacting us, or continuing to use the service after initiating a chargeback, may result in immediate account suspension and a ban on future purchases.
- We reserve the right to contest chargebacks we believe are invalid, including submitting evidence of service delivery and purchase acknowledgment.
12. Cancellation
You can cancel a Kipta subscription at any time. Cancellations take the following forms:
- Web purchases (Stripe / Paddle): Sign in at kipta.app, open Settings → Subscription, and select Cancel subscription. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period and will not renew thereafter.
- Google Play purchases: Cancel through the Google Play Store subscription settings at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Cancellation is governed by Google Play's terms.
Cancellation does not trigger a refund of the current billing period under section 3, and does not affect any credits already on your account under section 4.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, payment processor requirements, or applicable law. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the paid service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For changes that materially reduce your existing rights, we will provide additional notice (such as by email) where feasible.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Refund Policy, wish to request goodwill consideration for a documented issue, or need to report a billing error, please contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond to all billing-related inquiries within 2 business days.
This policy is governed by the laws of Bangladesh, including the Digital Security Act 2018 and the Information and Communication Technology Act 2006.
